New woodland assault course

Here it is then, stage 2 of the Spartan extreme training camp.  We're now up to 5 miles and 22 much harder (or more adreneline testing) obstacles including a 50ft monkey climb, a 100 ft. gradient overhand climb and a 20ft vine climb and a dip staion 10ft up which you need to get to with a monkey crawl!  The assortment of tree trunks has also got vastly heavier with the deadlift trunk measuring 22ft with a 18" diameter and its solid, so very heavy.

This course tests every muscle group has some deadly HIIT sections (including a special Xmas tree drag).

Bootcamp in the forest

Up ending the tree trunk, again and again and again...
The 2nd segment of the Spartan Extreme training this afternoon was muddy, boggy, wet, mulchy, scar making and pretty exhausting.  In fact quite a workout!
Danny with the evil eyes doing a log run

Nice gentle 50 sit ups - nice shorts btw!
A 3 mile cross country with 17 obstacles including bear crawls and bunny hops through deep mud, tree shins, tree trunk rolls, log runs, branch wrestles and about a million sit-ups, crunches, chins, squats and reverse press ups!

Matt wrestling a very springy branch

Back to the beach for the next one - hope the pallets haven't washed out to sea!

Spartan Extreme course 1

We've been out there in the mulchy autumn woods designing the course for this weeks Spartan Extreme course which starts tomorrow.  This will be a progressive course and 1 of 4, this one being the easiest and designed to settle newbies in - don't get complacent though this is still a 5 miler with 28 obstacles/and challenges but it wont be timed to allow us to settle in with the course.

Start with a 1 mile woodland jog taking in the beautiful scenery and getting trainers wet and ankles warmed up before...HELL!!!!!

Here's some shots to whet your appetite - we will be doing these in a random order as we make our way to the evergreens for a final sprint back to base for stretch out and copious energy bars and water!

Crossfire welcomes Physiotherapist Gary Sadler to the team

With Gary's wealth of experience as a Premiership football Physio brings undoubted benefits to clients working with Crossfire.  "Some of the transformations achieved with a Crossfire programme, particularly over a short space of time in readiness for something like a film role, can place enormous physical stresses on the body.  Naturally the Trainers and dietitians have this in mind but there may be occasions when those stresses may take there toll." says Gary

Gary's role is to provide pre training assessments from which our Trainers can formulate a plan that takes into account any potential weaknesses.  In the event of problems then Gary's wealth of experience is crucial in getting our clients up and going with the minimal of down time.
